Don’t let rusty stains get in the way of enjoying your dishes. As any other part of the dishwasher, the rack can become damaged and may need repair. The tip of the dishwasher rack can also break or the protective coating becomes worn down exposing the metal and leading to rust. Fortunately, this is easily and quickly replaced. We provide dishwasher rack repair the same day so you can get back to washing your dishes without worrying about stains.
There are some basic maintenance measures you can take to help prevent rust from developing. When you see that the rack is beginning to bubble and blister, rust is likely developing underneath. If a single prong is rusty, you may use a wire brush and/ or rotary tool to scrub this area off and prevent rust from spreading. If there are several places that have worn down, are bubbling, or are rusty, it’s time for dishwasher rack repair.

Dishwasher Not Cleaning: The basics
If you’ve confirmed your dishwasher not cleaning, here are a few basic tips. First, check and see if you are overloading your dishwasher. Review the loading instructions from the manufacturer to ensure you’re doing it correctly.
Ensure that none of the dishes are obstructing the spray arm, whether your spray arm is located on the top or the bottom. Also, check and make sure that you’re using the correct detergent for your type of dishwasher. Not removing as much food as possible from your dishes prior to washing can also cause problems. It is a possibility that you have hard water that is highly mineralized running through your pipes.
If you believe you have hard water, use a rinsing agent to help resolve this. In order to maintain energy efficiency, keep your water heater set at no higher than 120 degrees F. The heating booster will increase the temperature to approximately 140 degrees.
If your dishwasher requires 140 degrees in order to work properly, check the temperature at its hottest point. If the temperature is less than 140 degrees, you may need a new dishwasher, but feel free to consult with us first. Note that a small amount of water in the tub area is okay, it keeps the motor assembly from drying and cracking. If you know you need further repair or you’re unable to check these basics, we’re happy to do that for you.
1. Cleaning the spray arm
Remove the spray arm and clean it. There should be a cap on the the arm. Simply remove it first and the arm will come off. Scrub the debris from the base with a toothbrush and then wipe clean. Clean the spray arm holes with a wire, this should remove any debris that got trapped inside.
2. Make sure the float switch is clean
Checking the float switch is easy and quick. Open the dishwasher and locate the float switch, which is likely in the bottom front of the tub area. If the tub area will not fill with water, there may be debris under the float switch. Remove the float switch cap with a screwdriver and use a small pipe cleaner or toothbrush to clean inside and outside the float switch. It should slide up and down easily when clean.
3. Clean the dishwasher valve screen
The intake valve is the next likely cause of your dishwasher not cleaning. If your water level is not high enough when you’re washing, it could be because your intake valve screen is clogged. If the water doesn’t touch the heating element during washing, the water level is too low. First shut off the electrical power and water supply to the dishwasher, this is very important.
Unscrew and take off the lower panels, remove the supply tube, and take off the electrical wires. Remove the nuts holding the intake valve to the frame of the dishwasher. Using needle-nose pliers, take off the spring clamps holding the rubber tube to the valve. At this point, you should be holding the valve and you’ll want to remove all of the parts and screws. Keep all of the parts lined up so they are easy to reassemble. Rinse the small screen very well and reassemble the valve.
